In an exhibit that challenges traditional definitions of good photography, viewers will explore the camera as medium, and participate through an interactive installation component. The exhibit features Sara Detweiler (professional photographer and professor at U.W. Green Bay) and her most advanced students.

EXHIBIT: PAINTING PASTELS

The exhibition comprises approximately two dozen pastel-on-paper works, all created within the last couple of years. These pieces reflect the artists’s primary subject matter - landscapes, figure studies and still lifes. Painting Pastels will appear in the b2 Gallery. Designed to foster collaboration between artists, sculptors, poets and scientists and to encourage dialog, this groundbreaking interactive exhitibion is devoted to environmental issues common to Door County and every other community. The artwork includes painting, sculpture, weaving, carving, ceramics, photography, glass, carved eggs, fiber, paper, jewelry, silver, beadwork and even taxidermy. Scientific displays encompass topics such as geology, native cultures, endangered species and more.
